The T5 Gallery was pleased to support sculptors Michael Speller and Paul Vanstone recently at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.

Both artists had a very successful show welcoming clients and visitors from the UK and internationally, receiving positive comments on both the works and design of the stands.

The works on show from both artists explored existing themes but also introduced new elements and techniques.

Michael Speller Greenwich commission unveiling

Michael Speller has recently completed a new public commission located at the historic Greenwich market. It was unveiled by the Duke of York on April 20th and coincides with the completion of a large restoration project for the market.

Michael’s sculpture, entitled ‘Encompass’ incorporates 210 bronze figures that form a bronze sphere. The work references the nearby Royal Naval College and the figures themselves are silhouettes of seamen, workers from the past and present.

“I have been fortunate enough to have seen my sculptures travel to many parts of the world. The opportunity to deliver a commission locally in the heart of Greenwich my home town for the past 30 years feels like a joyous return in the wake of a long voyage of my own.” – Michael Speller
