Andy Baerselman – ‘Ray’

Showing for the second time with the gallery during August will be Andy Baerselman and his ‘Ray’ sculpture.

As with Andy’s previous work, this piece is highly crafted, presenting a sculptural form that perfectly represents the fluid form of an Eagle Ray.

The wood body is layered with a transparent resin which lends the work depth and an intense iridescence.

The sculpture is mounted in such a way that it can move freely on a pivot, hinting at the ease with which rays can glide through the water. They have been described as moving: “like a flag in the wind”
